Position Summary: Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Commercial Account Representative is a
crucial team member of Avenir Energy. The successful candidate will demonstrate
industry leading outside sales management skills to maximize revenue by creating,
managing and implementing best-in-class sales development activities,
acquiring/maintaining new accounts as well as retaining existing accounts to maximize
growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Achieve Commercial sales and margin sales targets for Commercial Propane
business with approximately 80% of time prospecting for new business and
20% managing existing business
• Work closely with operations and support functions to facilitate solutions for the
customer
• Track volumes, numbers and margins by reviewing sales reports
• Keeps up-to-date and maintains understanding of propane codes, transportation
tank regulations, federal and provincial guidelines for tank and petroleum storage
and the company safety regulation
• Performs various administrative duties, including preparing expense and
commission reports using excel
• Willingness to travel with some overnights required
Qualifications and Skills:
• 3 or more years of commercial sales experience with a proven track record of
success
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Formal sales training, either on the job or in formal courses
• Industry and product-specific knowledge of propane an asset
• Results-oriented, good attitude to prospect and identify opportunities for success
• Experience in providing excellent customer service is required
• Flexible, goal-oriented, time management and organization skills
• Must be able to work independently
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract
