Job Summary
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to produce high-precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and adhere to stringent quality standards. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that parts are produced efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce aerospace components from metals and alloys according to specifications.
- Programming and Adjustments: Interpret and adjust CNC programs as necessary for accuracy and efficiency. Make adjustments to machine offsets and tool changes based on part specifications and quality standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct in-process inspections and measurements to ensure all parts meet strict aerospace tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), to verify dimensions.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. Report any major equipment malfunctions to the maintenance team.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required documentation, including job travelers, inspection reports, and time logs.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in the aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing industry.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency with CNC programming and operation of CNC mills and lathes.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
- Ability to work with precision measuring instruments and maintain close tolerances.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in aerospace manufacturing.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, defect-free parts.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to ensure part accuracy.
To Apply: Submit your resume and a brief cover letter (optional) detailing your experience in CNC machining, particularly in the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry.
