We are seeking an experienced electrical estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, your role will involve evaluating schematics and other documents to estimate the cost of electrical work for various projects. You'll analyze blueprints, prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates, and collaborate with clients to determine project scope. Your attention to detail, knowledge of electrical codes, and problem-solving skills will be essential. It is crucial that our Estimators promote a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare comprehensive project estimates, including labor hours, material costs, and subcontractor expenses.
- Present estimates and proposals to potential clients during bid meetings.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bids, and project-related documentation.
- Travel to customer sites for project meetings and scope development.
- Evaluating project profitability to assist management in bidding decisions.
- Providing viable solutions to enhance project profitability.
- Regularly updating cost databases to reflect fluctuating material and labor costs.
- Compare actual costs against estimated costs and adjust future estimates accordingly.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing and terms for materials and equipment procurement.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and select the most cost-effective options.
- Read and understand electrical schematics, panel wiring and PLC ladder logic diagrams.
- Attend kick off meetings with external and internal stakeholders to ensure project details are fully defined.
- Efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines for bid submissions and project estimates
- Collaborate with project managers to mitigate risks and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members when applicable.
- Work in collaboration with customers, project managers, project leads, designers, and electricians to successfully complete projects on time and on budget.
- Work in a safe manner & adhere to all safety policies & procedures.
- Always conduct oneself in a professional manner in alignment with Company values, including but not limited to language use, attire, and workmanship
- In accordance with Company policy and relevant employment legislation, overtime and work outside of regular hours, and being on call may be required at the discretion of the Company

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a postsecondary electrical program, skilled trade, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years experience creating estimates for electrical systems, including motors, hardware, programming, control panels, automated machinery, and electrical safety components.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, components, and materials.
- Valid electrician's license an asset.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations and safety requirements (e.g., ESA).
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Good mathematical skills for accurate material take-offs and cost calculations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting estimates and proposals to clients.
- Maintain a positive and respectful demeanor with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Uphold ethical standards in all interactions
