Position Title: CNC Machinist

Position Overview:
As a CNC Machinist at CBB, you will play a crucial role in our production operations, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various production equipment including CNC's and conventional machines. Your primary responsibility will be to produce quality parts while maintaining acceptable levels of production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate large CNC Vertical and Horizontal Turning Centers, CNC Horizontal Boring Mills, and Manual Machines as required.
- Perform heavy manual work in compliance with CBB Health & Safety practices.
- Machine products to specified requirements as defined on Job Travelers, Drawings, and Operations Instruction Sheets.
- Read blueprints and interpret various symbols regarding tolerances, surface finishes, etc.
- Clean and inspect parts to ensure product compliance before the metal removal process.
- Ensure tooling requirements are met before starting each job and escalate any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain optimal conditions for machining processes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Read and understand programs to manage operations details and ensure safe machine tool operation.
- Monitor and maintain tooling in peak conditions.
- Clean and verify the dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Practice excellent 5S and general housekeeping to maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform daily machine checks as per preventative maintenance program and safety procedures.
- Utilize overhead crane to set up and move parts.
- Participate in Lean Implementation and Lean initiatives.
- Follow CBB established safety practices and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with peers, supervision, engineering, and quality personnel.
Experience & Qualifications:
- CNC machining experience, including machine setup & operation of CNC Vertical and Horizontal Turning Centers and manual lathes.
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints, drawings, charts, tables, and quality documentation.
- Experience working with large, complex components and difficult-to-machine materials.
- Motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Previous experience working with overhead cranes is an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years experience.
Education/Certifications:
- General machinist certificate or equivalent experience is an asset.
Shift Details:
- Schedule: Afternoon shift, 40 hours per week (Monday to Thursday)
- Hours: 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM
Compensation and Benefits:
- Base Rate: Extremely competitive pay depending on experience
- Shift Premium: Additional 10% for afternoon shifts
