West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our South Cariboo Woodlands team has an opportunity in 100 Mile House for a Purchase Wood Coordinator.

Reporting to the Purchase Wood Supervisor and based out of the 100 Mile House office, this position plays an integral role in procuring the log consumption requirements for the South Cariboo region including 100 Mile Lumber, Williams Lake Plywood, as well as pulp log opportunities, while offering diverse and challenging forest management opportunities.

You will:

  • Coordinate a program to Purchase Log volumes from a variety of sources
  • Implement the delivery, quality control and payment of Purchase Wood Contracts
  • Work with the Purchase Wood Supervisor to seek longer term, strategic log-supply opportunities
  • Travel within the South Cariboo and occasionally beyond, to view, assess and inspect purchase wood sources

You have:

  • Experience in Operations supervision including harvesting, road construction, safety, road-use, road maintenance, EMS certification systems and the related documentation
  • Strong written and electronic communication skills
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently guided by the divisional management objectives
  • A basic understanding of sawmill operation
  • An RFT or RPF designation or the ability to attain designation with FPBC
  • Motivation and interest to learn - candidates with experience in other forestry areas will be considered

Compensation Package:

  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The yearly salary range is between $94,000-115,000
  • Annual bonus opportunity
