Job DescriptionReporting to the Director, Construction, and working within the Capital Development Department, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of implementing both major and minor capital projects.
Accountabilities:
- Work within the Capital Development team to implement the redevelopment process from design development, drawing preparation, budget and schedule control and assist with occupancy planning
- Lead a team or independently manage the day-to-day activities associated with the implementation of the redevelopment projects including liaison with hospital user groups, hospital leadership, Osler Foundation, Ministry of Health Capital team, Consultants, Contractors, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, and other stakeholder groups to ensure the project remains within developed project parameters
- Support Capital Planning team in design development and specifications to tender
- Manage tender process (either through consultant or owner tendered) including monitoring responding to request for information, bid evaluations to contract award
- Lead a team to implement project management processes and best practice including budget, risk management and schedule control leading to project completion and occupancy
- Participate/facilitate all project related meetings and conferences including but not limited to owner, architect and contractor meeting; project steering committee; and others as necessary
- Act as the primary liaison, through multiple communication venues, between Facilities team and contract service providers (service companies); end users, Infection, Prevention and Control, Occupational Health and Safety, consultants and construction team to ensure client and hospital objectives are met throughout the construction and project close-out process
- Facilitate logistics and implementation of new and transferred equipment requirements
- Facilitate RFP process with Osler's procurement agency to engage other services as required
- Assist and/or plan end-user decanting and relocation is planned and executed efficiently, effectively, and according to schedule
- Collaborate and track with consultants to respond to requests for information, shop drawing and other Contract Administration-related submissions
- Confirm project information (review of drawings, specifications, etc.), payment authorizations, etc. to ensure all construction related activities and requests are addressed in a timely manner
- Monitor construction activity, document and collaborate with consultants to ensure quality and safety are maintained at all times
- Ensure design and work is in compliance with CSA standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contraventions in a timely manner
- Work under own initiative to drive project processes while displaying energy and enthusiasm within the role and deliver projects on time and on budget
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested
- University/college education with construction technology or engineering
- PMP® certification or to be or achieved within two years and/or ARICS qualified an asset
- Minimum of 10 years of construction project management relevant experience (work within a health care facility an asset)
- Proven understanding of and experience with the Ministry of Health Capital Planning Process is strongly preferred
- Experience in P3 Infrastructure Ontario contracts, including DBF(M), PDB, etc.
- Thorough knowledge, understanding and utilization of CCDC 2 contracts and use of supplemental conditions
- Strong demonstration of project control skills, including development and monitoring of budgets, construction progress and schedules
- Demonstrate strong ability to interact with and manage consultants and contractors on a daily basis
- Knowledge of architectural, and/or mechanical/and electrical systems and the ability to read/comprehend detailed issued-for-construction documents
- General understanding of the Ontario Building Code, National and Ontario Fire Prevention Acts, AODA and other applicable codes, laws and acts
- Thorough understanding of CSA Z317 (latest edition) infection control during construction, renovation, and maintenance of health care facilities as well as all latest CSA and ESA standards related to health care. CSA Certifications are an asset
- Outstanding organization, priority setting and problem-solving skills
- Effective participant in a team environment
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Current working at heights training or achieve upon hiring
- Demonstrated computer skills, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint or other cloud-based services. Knowledge of Auto-Cad is an asset
- Ability to travel between all Osler sites

Annual Salary:
Minimum: $104,227.50
Maximum: $130,279.50
