Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and participate in quality and diverse recreational, social, and/or educational programming activities in cooperation with the Programming Team.
  • Oversees the day-to-day delivery of the assigned program.
  • Provide direct supervision of members, and ensures their health, safety, and wellness.
  • Engage in and encourage member participation in programming activities. Encourages regular member attendance.
  • Creates a safe and engaging environment in which the members can interact.
  • Ensure that equipment and the facility are clean, well-maintained, and safe at all times.
  • Build relationships with the children, youth, and families within their designated programs. Establishes open communication with parents/caregivers. Identifies families who require additional support, and connects with appropriate resources.
  • Use Club vans to pick up members from school and transport to various sites if required.
  • Provides group and/or individual behaviour management and support.
  • Ensures Agency Policies and Procedures, Program Operating Standards, WCB standards, Risk Management requirements and general safety standards are met and followed by all staff at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a course or a combination of courses of at least 20 hours duration which include child development, guidance, health and safety or nutrition
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and Food Safe an asset
  • Class 5 drivers license with the ability to obtain class 4 an asset
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including criminal record check

This position is open to all applicants and requires Union membership

Hours: 14 hours a week, Tuesday to Saturday, programs run 1:30pm-5:00pm

Rate of Pay: $19.82 per hour
