Job DescriptionArcadis is seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Design and Engineering team in our Mobility business area.
This position can be based out of any of our office in Canada.
You will have progressive experience in the design and construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and other transportation-related structures. You will also have experience in leading the design development of new bridges and bridge rehabilitations, and in undertaking bridge inspections, investigations and assessment report preparation. In this role, you will be involved in solving complex problems, coaching and mentoring junior staff, project management and coordinating various disciplines on bridge related projects.
Most of the things you'll work on:
Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs of bridges, culverts and other transportation-related structures including performing structural analysis and calculations
Preparation of reports and contract documents
Coordinating and reviewing drawing production
Communication with other disciplines to assure project collaboration
Construction liaison and site inspections of bridges and civil structures
Quality Control/Quality Assurance; and other responsibility as may be assigned
Mentor, coach, and lead team members
Assist with preparing Business Development (BD) proposals in bidding for new work
You'll need to have:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil / Structural Engineering from an accredited university
Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (or other Provincial Association)
Minimum Seven (7) years of design experience for new bridges and bridge rehabilitations for various bridge types and materials including highway and rail bridges
Knowledge in structural analysis software for the evaluation and analysis of all types of bridges and working knowledge of CAD software
Experience and proven knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code, and provincial/territorial standards
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven ability to prepare high quality reports and proposals
Initiative and ability to work independently and to provide direction to other members of a Project Team with a collaborative attitude
A commitment to deadlines, excellence and high quality work with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
Analytical thinker and problem solver with the ability to present ideas and design rational
Desire to grow, mentor, and inspire a team

The salary range for this position is $70,738 - $106,106. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
