We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and client-driven individual to join our growing team as an Accounting Data Advisor, to assist us in providing service excellence, ensuring all aspects of our clients' needs are met and exceeded. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and other management reporting.
  • Reconcile accounts and post journal entries.
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation.
  • Performs bookkeeping and payroll duties including staff & client payrolls, bank deposits & reconciliations, accounts payable and other client payments.
  • Answers phone and in-person inquiries with regard to client payroll
  • Maintains bookkeeping files.
  • Performs clerical and other related duties as required.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll.
  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Prepare T1's, T4s, GST and other compliance returns.
  • Make updates using the client's accounting software, including posting to general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and reviewing reports.
  • Collaborate with peers and management on file planning and completion, ensuring that time requirements are met.
  • Provide personal, attentive service to clients, encouraging productive working relationships.

The successful candidate will have:

  • at least 2 years' experience in full cycle bookkeeping procedures
  • payroll designation & experience considered an asset.
  • 2 years' experience in Bookkeeping
  • 2 years' experience in Personal tax preparation is mandatory.
  • 2 years' experience in QuickBooks Online is required.
  • Tech Stack experience including integration of apps is considered an asset.
  • experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks online are required.
  • experience in preparation of Notice to Reader statements would be an asset.
  • experience in the management of multiple government contracts and knowledge of Provincial and Federal financial reporting requirements would be an asset.
  • an understanding of the Provincial and Federal bidding systems.
  • excellent computer skills and willingness to upgrade such skills, as required.

In addition to these, the ideal candidate will have:

  • demonstrated ability to perform multi tasks in an environment where priorities can change rapidly.
  • good time management skills and the ability to anticipate and manage a changing workflow.
  • good oral and written communication skills
  • good computer, analytical and mathematical skills
  • strong computer skills including windows XP, Excel, and Word
  • in depth knowledge of Revenue Canada regulations, Labor Standards requirements, WCB, and GST
  • excellent interpersonal skills.
  • administrative and organizational skills.
  • knowledge in the areas of Freedom of Information and storage of confidential information
  • demonstrated problem-solving skills.
