BUS DRIVER/MAINTENANCE WORKER (FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME)

POSITIONS: PERMANENT

DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 13, 2024

Migisi School is seeking a reliable and dedicated Bus Driver/Maintenance Worker to safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities. This unique dual role is essential in ensuring the safe transportation of our students while coordinating the maintenance and upkeep of our school facilities. We welcome applications from candidates who may wish to focus solely on either bus driving or maintenance duties.

BUS DRIVER DUTIES:

  • Safely operate a school bus according to scheduled routes and timelines.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers while on the bus.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bus interior.
  • Assist students with boarding and disembarking as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and school policies regarding transportation.
  • Handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
  • Attend training sessions and safety meetings as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of routes, stops, and any incidents.

MAINTENANCE DUTIES:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of school facilities and grounds.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for facility projects and repairs.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with the set-up and breakdown of school events and activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Class B license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Previous experience as a bus driver or in facilities management is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and adhere to schedules.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screenings as required by school policy.
