- Installation, Service, and Repair: Demonstrate proficiency with sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, fire-rated doors, high-speed doors, rubber doors, electric operators and controls, loading dock levelers, bumpers, seals, and automatic vehicle restraints.
- Equipment Transportation: Transport doors and equipment safely to and from job sites.
- Site Clean-Up: Maintain a clean work environment, including waste disposal and cleaning door surfaces post-installation or repair.
- Inventory Management: Replenish truck stock of fasteners and parts daily, apply company service stickers on completed jobs, and return shop tools to proper storage.
- Dispatch: After completing each dispatched assignment, contact dispatch for further instructions. Report to dispatch upon returning to the shop to confirm completion and receive any additional directives.
- On-Call: Participate in on-call schedule rotations.
- Shipment Assistance: Receive and or aid with receiving deliveries as needed.
- Issue Resolution: Engage with customers to understand complaints, identify solutions, and suggest improvements.
- Warranty Support: Escalate warranty or no-charge issues to dispatch for authorization and notation.
- Lead by Example: Uphold professional standards in attendance, punctuality, and work ethic, especially in the absence of your supervisor.
- Collaboration: Work closely with your supervisor to plan and execute installations efficiently.
- Training: Support trainee development by sharing expertise, conducting assessments, and participating in new technician selection as requested.
- Safety Compliance: Collaborate with your supervisor to maintain vehicles and equipment in safe, functional condition while managing costs effectively.
- Safety Training: Complete all required in-house & on site safety courses and contribute to the company's Annual Safety Evaluation Program.
- Checklists: Perform scheduled reviews, including Vehicle, Tool, and Annual Safety Checklists.
- Vehicle Cleanliness: Keep the work vehicle organized and clean daily.
- Dress Code: Project a professional image by wearing KBI-provided apparel, maintained in clean and presentable condition.
- Time Management: Complete time cards daily.
- Work Orders: Document all service and installation activities, ensuring accurate notes, measurements, and photos for office records.
- Stock Tracking: Promptly report any low stock in warehouse or service trucks by submitting a memo to the office.
- Continued Learning: Stay informed on product updates, attend on-site training, seminars, and participate in training sessions.
- Knowledge Sharing: Mentor and support team members with training in installation/service functions. Commercial Accounts:
- Client Relations: Build and maintain relationships with commercial clients and site supervisors to expand maintenance contract opportunities.
