Cloud Platform Engineer

Job description

We are looking for a Platform Engineer, preferably with Azure experience, to join our growing Engineering team and to help build out the next generation of our platform. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable Azure based systems. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of cloud features, CI/CD methodologies, tools such as git, docker, Kubernetes, and be able to apply their skills to our technical architecture. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with minimal supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement, flexibility, taking initiative, and self-reflection.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, build and deliver our connected IoT platform vision by providing technical expertise and guidance in cloud technologies
  • Design and develop application architectures and networks using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and HCP Cloud
  • Selection and optimization of Azure resources to meet scalability, performance and availability requirements of the IoT platform
  • Provide proven infrastructure deployments through continuous configuration automation (Actions, Pipelines, ARM templates, etc…)
  • Support the scaling up of a groundbreaking new product from a few clients to global reach.
  • Collaborate with the software development team in a fast-moving agile environment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware engineers, data scientists, business users, project managers and other software engineers to achieve elegant solutions

QualificationsWe're looking for someone with a minimum of 5+ years of experience, has a BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, and is familiar with the following software/tools:

  • 5+ years Cloud and IoT Infrastructure management experience preferably using the Azure platform
  • Strong DevOps focus and experience building CICD pipelines using GitOps and Argos
  • Engineering, design, architecture and operational expertise around Azure is preferred
  • Design of native Cloud applications, Cloud application design patterns, and practices
  • Hands-on experience working with web languages and technologies like: React, Node, Node server, Typescript, OAuth, JWT, GraphQL APIs etc
  • Experience with MongoDB and CosmosDB
  • Familiarity with event driven systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Service Bus Queue etc.
  • Familiarity with IoT device provisioning and management
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
