Established in 1951, Farmer Construction is a privately-owned family business which has collaborated extensively in the development of Vancouver Island communities and skyline. Who We Are Looking For

Duties

• Excellent knowledge of the construction, erection and installation of engineered formwork systems for columns, walls, suspended slabs, slab on grade and stairs
• Wood framing – residential experience
• Erecting and building scaffold for concrete formwork decks
• Stripping and removal of concrete formwork after concrete pours
• Interior finishing – case, base, hang doors, and window liners
• Installation of anchor bolts
• Build hoardings and concrete sidewalk forming

Physical Requirements

• Able to work at heights and balance on platforms, scaffolds and decks
• Able to work alone, or as part of a team
• Able to travel within the Greater Victoria Area and/or Vancouver Island.
• Work is physically demanding
• Hardworking and able to accept direction from a Supervisor
• Ability to work exposed to the elements

Qualification Requirements

• 4+ years of construction experience, preferred
• Red Seal Journeyman certificate an asset, or experience in the trade
• General carpentry or formwork experience
• Knowledge in trade related math, volumes and areas
• Be able to read blueprints and have an understanding of the BC Building Code

**Uncertified, certified and Apprentices are highly encouraged to apply. We will help train and provide funding for an apprenticeship or certification in carpentry.**
