Job Title: Registered Social Worker
Status: Part-time and Full-time available | Permanent
FTE: 0.5 - 1.0 (20 - 40 hours per week, flexible schedule)

Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Location: The Newly Institute Fredericton Clinic (#6, 5 Acorn Street, Fredericton, NB)
Compensation: $85,000- $98,800 per year, prorated by FTE
ABOUT THE NEWLY INSTITUTE
The Newly Institute was founded to provide long-lasting change within the mental health industry, our community, and with our clients. Our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access, rapid resolution, and rapid return to work and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety, depression, addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and chronic pain.
At The Newly Institute in Fredericton, we provide Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Treatment Programs. Our programs are based on evidence and data, but our approach is personal because we know it's vital that people feel safe to be vulnerable during this process. Our clients in our Intensive Outpatient Programs are typically in clinic 4-5 days a week, with a typical minimum of 4 weeks in programming.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services, you be responsible for conducting intakes, case management, group facilitation, and providing therapy for individuals struggling with complex mental health conditions. Working with a rotational therapist model, you will collaborate as an integral member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team towards positive outcomes for clients, while sharing our core values of communication, community, excellence, health, and innovation.
Client Care Accountabilities
- Provide individual trauma therapy utilizing Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and/or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
- Conduct efficient and effective clinical client assessments (mental health history, risk assessment, trauma, and addictions).
- Facilitate psychoeducation groups (based on ACT, sleep education, DBT skills, mindfulness, and family support).
- Provide resource-based interventions, case management and coordination, transition, or discharge planning.
- Assist in grounding and reflection post-psychopharmacological treatment.
- Demonstrate expertise and skills to support clients presenting with:
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Psychological injury
- Addiction
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Other mental health diagnoses
Team Collaboration Accountabilities
- Participate in weekly case consultations and complex case discussions with an interdisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload, within a rotating therapist model.
- Communicate with other clinicians on a regular basis about issues related to client care.
- Participate in mental health promotion activities and contribute to establishing and maintaining mental health and addictions community resources.
Administrative Accountabilities
- Ensure same-day completion of session notes.
- Complete assessment reports in a timely manner.
- Provide reporting to third parties and community referral sources.
- Attend relevant clinical meetings, including but not limited to WorkSafe NB (Return to Work) and other programs.
- Engagement in professional consults and supervision.
Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as a Registered Social Worker is required.
- 2+ years of experience in mental health assessment/triage and treatment is a strong asset.
- Experience treating complex PTSD is an asset.
- 2+ utilizing EMDR or ART for treatment of PTSD is an asset, or willingness to train
- Experience treating addiction is a strong asset.
- Experience with individual, group, and family counselling is an asset.
- Equivalences of experience may be considered.
- Ability to speak French is an asset
Education
- A Master's degree in Social Work or related field is required.
Professional Registration/Designation
- An active registration with New Brunswick Association of Social Workers (NBASW) is required in Clinical Social Work
- Professional liability insurance is required.
Technical Competences
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook and Teams is required.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is an asset.
