Roles & Responsibilities
This is a full-time hybrid role as Assistant Project Manager. The APM is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day construction activities on site including managing personnel, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality assurance, and maintaining a safe and secure job site.
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget
- Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
- Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established schedules
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop and implement quality control programs
- Represent company on matters such as business services and contract negotiation
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients
- Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
- Manage all project submittals
Qualifications
- Experience in multi unit residential construction.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Experience in project scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance
- Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with project team, clients, and subcontractors
- Prior experience in general contracting including residential and commercial projects
- Post-secondary education or 3+ years of experience as a superintendent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Autodesk and Bluebeam
- Relevant certifications and licenses (e.g. First Aid, WHMIS, Construction Safety Training, etc.
