Yonge Street Mission (YSM) is a vibrant, non-profit Christian organization leading a collective movement to end chronic poverty in Toronto. The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Educational Supports Facilitator to coordinate and provide academic and care management support in a positive, engaging, and encouraging environment for school-aged children. While keeping with YSM's mission, goal, core values and biblical foundations.

Responsibilities:

  • To deliver engaging quality educational programming for school aged children in the Downtown East Toronto area.
  • To provide consistent and intentional case management support for up to 15 children & youth with a focus on education, life skills and personal development
  • To ensure safe and fun environments for academic enrichment opportunities homework support for students in elementary and middle school
  • To develop and deliver workshops for children and youth that build life skills related to academic success such as resiliency, study habits, time management and note taking
  • Supervise a dynamic team of highly qualified volunteer tutors
  • Ensure activities and impact outcomes (TIMESTR) are achieved, documented and communicated effectively
  • Cultivate strategic external partnerships

Qualifications:

  • University or College Degree in related field
  • Educational or social services professional with a passion for serving children and youth impacted by urban poverty
  • Demonstrated results working within a multi-service agency
  • Collaborative, trauma-informed, client centered care approach to youth work
  • Ability to thrive in diversity and work within an anti-oppressive framework
  • Strong administrative, volunteer management and communication skills
  • Commitment to YSM's mission, principles and faith-based values
  • Familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.

Compensation: YSM offers market competitive rates and will pay a starting salary of $54,016.58 for this role, combined with a comprehensive suite of benefits and perks.
