Tiercon Corp. is an automotive supplier committed to the design, manufacture and assembly of quality exterior trim and assembled systems used as original equipment in the automotive market. Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Paint Kitchen Attendant at our 591 Arvin facility.

Shift requirements - Afternoon shift (starting from 11:30 am/ 12:30 pm).

Additional wage shift premiums may apply.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:

Reporting to the Paint Superintendent, the Paint Kitchen Attendant will be responsible for mixing, monitoring, calculating and recording paint used in production.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare paint needed for production, verify expiration dates, viscosities, paint temperatures, record batch numbers, record pump setups and calculate daily paint usage.
  • Load and unload paint drums into paint systems.
  • Monitor paint pumps and catalyst vessels.
  • Verify colours are selected correctly through the color Configuration data base.
  • Monitor and ensure adequate supplies of nitrogen are available for production.
  • Ensure working condition of paint delivery system, maintaining and repairing paint delivery equipment when required; record all maintenance in Paint Kitchen Log and advise Maintenance Foreman of major repairs required.
  • Perform physical paint inventory counts when requested.
  • Ensure paint kitchen is clean and orderly and that paint drums are properly grounded at all times
  • Ensure paint is properly labeled, handled and stored as per WHMIS regulations at all times.
  • In conjunction with other personnel and paint suppliers, participate in identifying, analyzing and solving paint/production/quality non-conformances or problems.
  • Report all accidents, incidents or potential safety hazards, non-conformances and paint or quality problems to supervisor immediately.
  • Participate in corrective/preventative action when required.
  • Practice continuous improvement; or identifying any processes or procedures that can be improved and result in better company performance.
  • Adhere to all procedures and policies as outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality system.
  • Perform duties as assigned from time to time by supervisor.

  • Rotate between shifts as required.
  • Rotate between all paint kitchen and booth positions are required.
  • Perform duties as assigned from time to time by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Education at minimum
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in paint application an asset
