THE OPPORTUNITY:

Start you career in the Fire Prevention Industry with Community Fire as a full-time Junior Fire Protection Technician. In this role you will be immersed into the world of fire protection by shadowing and training under the supervision of experienced Senior Fire Protection Technicians. You will learn how to inspect and test Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lights, Fire Alarms and Sprinkler Systems through conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance of fire and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in conducting Monthly, Quarterly, Semi and Annual Fire Inspections as per the 2018 BC Fire Code and all applicable CAN/ULC, NFPA and CSA inspections.
  • Accurate and timely completion of all electronic inspection reports and other relevant documentation.
  • Daily communication with both internal and external parties on details of inspections, project delays, and overall status.
  • Actively partake in ongoing education and professional development by achieving certification with ASTTBC and or CFAA.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on new industry standards, product or service changes, and industry best practices.
  • Provide a ‘next-level' experience when interacting with customers, suppliers, contractors, and team members.

The ideal candidate would have the following strengths and experience:

  • Electrical / Electronic or Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid BC Drivers License.
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive.
  • Must have excellent English communication skills (verbal and written) and a positive friendly attitude.
  • Work 40hrs per week (overtime and on-call rotation as needed).
