As a Wealth Advisor, you will lead the RLB Wealth service division and provide high-calibre, customized financial planning services to our clients in conjunction with TriCert's financial planning team. You will play a vital role in ensuring each client follows a well-defined financial plan, through coordination with the client's accounting and tax advisors at RLB and with the investment management team at TriCert or with external investment advisors.

The role is ideal for a personable individual who can easily communicate and develop meaningful relationships with our clients, who values always pursuing the client's best interest, and who is able to provide financial planning advice that is independent.

Supporting Our Clients and Team

Financial Planning

  • Develop comprehensive financial plans for clients, collaborating with the financial planning team at TriCert or external investment advisors.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of clients' financial plans alongside their RLB advisors.
  • Deliver financial plan presentations to clients and spearhead plan implementation with RLB advisors, the investment management team at TriCert, and other external advisors.
  • Regularly assess client progress against the plan, engaging in discussions with clients and providing guidance on necessary adjustments or additional steps.

Client Relations Management

  • Maintain the client relationship management (CRM) system to ensure seamless communication and documentation.
  • Foster consistent communication with clients, reviewing their progress against financial plans and identifying incomplete aspects.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Organize and host educational and appreciation events for clients.

Strategy and Business Development

  • Execute and oversee the strategic plan, maintaining Executive Committee support and approval.
  • Partner with Executive team in setting long-term objectives and devise key strategies to accomplish them.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating plan, detailing actionable steps aligned with the strategic goals.
  • Collaborate regularly with RLB accounting & tax professionals to enhance the Wealth Management offering.

Leadership

  • Direct and supervise business operations, including oversight of support staff.
  • Cultivate a work environment that aligns with the organization's values.
  • Work closely with the Executive Committee to ensure consensus on strategy, performance objectives, and action plans.

Communication

  • Maintain regular and effective communication channels with clients, TriCert staff or external investment advisors, RLB professionals, and the Executive Committee.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality standards and ensure the protection of personal client information in compliance with privacy regulations.

Professional Development

  • Remain current with the latest financial planning concepts and practices.
  • Adhere rigorously to the practice and ethical standards set forth by Certified Financial Planners, the CPA profession, and the core values of RLB.
  • Respect and comply with securities regulations, refraining from engaging in activities that require licensing by a securities regulator.
  • Actively participate in ongoing improvement endeavors aimed at enhancing the business, supporting staff development, and ultimately benefiting our clients.

Role Requirements

  • CFP designation required (or willingness to complete)
  • CIM, CFA, or CPA with demonstrated experience considered an asset
  • 5+ years' experience in the financial services industry
  • Life Insurance Agent license (or willingness to complete) considered an asset
  • Experience working as an Associate Advising Representative is a major asset
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in commerce, business, or economics
  • Computer software knowledge – Microsoft Office, financial planning software, and client relationship management (CRM) system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a client-centric professional attitude required
