ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our Calgary office. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing land administration staff, land agent staff, costs, invoicing and assigned client contracts.
As a Project Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Lead and oversee the project execution, ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and both external and internal parties to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Administer project deliverables, financial plans, schedules, and other documents upholding adherence to the company's Quality Assurance standards and protocols when requested or required.
- Sustain and enhance existing client relationships through diligent follow-up, support, problem resolution, and offering technical, regulatory, and service-oriented recommendations.
- Ensuring administrative and agent staff are meeting deadlines.
- Maintain cost and project reporting – ensuring all are up to date and complete.
- Review documentation for projects assigned to other Land Administrators/ Land agents as required.
- Support Senior administrators by providing guidance.
- Preparing cost estimates, cost reporting, forecasting and safety reporting.
- Ensure proper resourcing is in place.
- Lead a team focused on driving staff development and facilitating continuous knowledge expansion.
- Support the Project Coordinator with requests for information as required.
- Participate in the dispute process for surface requests when appropriate.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures.
- Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team
We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects at once.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and highly organized.
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
- Integrity, ethics and emotional intelligence.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with cloud-based tools like Teams and Teams File Folders.
- Exceptional reporting and project management skills.
- Experience in Surface Land acquisition and Project Management and coordination, including planning, execution, data management, and report generation.
- Well-versed in all Alberta regulations.
- Communicating with key stakeholders such as clients, landowners, regulatory officials, government agencies and management.
- Preference for those with exposure to other industries like renewables, water, telecom.
- Preferred candidates will possess an active membership to an applicable provincial land organization.
- Valid Land Agent and Driver's Licenses or equivalent.
- 7-10 years Land experience.
- This role will report to the departmental Vice President.
