Our unique curriculum is based on the philosophy that children learn best through experiences. As a Lead Infant Teacher, you will create provocations for young children (0-24 months) and guide their learning through a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment that cultivates enthusiastic and global-minded individuals. We provide an engaging work environment and have dedicated staff members to support you in your role as an educator.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others.
  • Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and encourage children to enrich their everyday experiences using the environment as the third teacher.
  • Ensure that classroom practices meet Alberta Child Care Licensing and Accreditation Standards.
  • Plan open-ended activities to support the development of children.
  • Create engaging learning opportunities based on the learning objectives of the classroom.
  • Provide care for children including diapering, feeding, and napping as needed.

What You Bring (Preferred Skills and Qualifications)

  • A passion for working with babies and toddlers
  • Patient, nurturing, and thoughtful
  • Good communication skills to communicate effectively with parents
  • Previous experience working with young children is an asset
  • A diploma in Early Childhood Education / Early Child-Care Certification
  • Evidence of Criminal Record Clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Search, within the past 6 months
  • First Aid / CPR Certification
  • Ability to lift a min. of 40lbs., especially when working with infants and toddlers.
