Senior Systems Architecture Consultant (Computer & Storage)
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group, a leading recruitment firm in Manitoba, has been tasked by a dynamic Winnipeg-based company to recruit a Senior Systems Architecture Consultant (Computer & Storage).
In the Systems Architecture team, as a Senior Consultant, you'll be pivotal in ensuring top-notch technology solutions and providing outstanding value to clients. We're looking for someone who's creative, adaptable, collaborative, and thrives in the dynamic environment of the IT field.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with clients and stakeholders to collect thorough specifications, then transform them into detailed High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) Solution Designs.
Leverage expert understanding of system software, virtualization, data center infrastructure, and storage technologies to design customized solutions tailored to clients' specific requirements while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Take charge of implementing and rolling out intricate solutions, utilizing your extensive knowledge across various technologies such as Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, Citrix, Cisco UCS, Netapp, and others.
Guarantee smooth integration and peak performance of systems, networks, and storage infrastructure, all within the confines of project schedules and budget limitations.
Offer continuous technical assistance and upkeep for deployed solutions, actively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and optimize system efficiency.
Consistently refine and enhance systems, networks, and storage setups to uphold scalability, reliability, and security standards.
Collaborate closely with diverse teams spanning Sales, Project Management, Engineering, and Architecture to synchronize project delivery and ensure it meets client needs and expectations.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, providing timely updates on project advancement, potential risks, and challenges, while engaging in collaborative problem-solving and decision-making discussions.
Remain current with the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in ICT systems architecture, as well as in computing and storage technologies.
Pass on your knowledge and skills to fellow team members by providing mentorship, conducting training sessions, and participating in knowledge-sharing activities, all aimed at nurturing a culture of ongoing learning and innovation within the team.
Ensure precise documentation of solution designs, configurations, and implementation procedures is consistently maintained.
Produce thorough reports and documentation to record project milestones, technical specifications, and suggestions for future improvements or optimizations.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent blend of education and practical experience.
Advanced certifications in any of the following technologies are highly desirable: Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix, Cloud architecture, Netapp, Veeam and/or Cisco/Meraki.
Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in the fields of systems architecture, design, implementation, and support.
Proficiency in crafting High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level (LLD) Solution Designs and executing solutions using a diverse array of technologies, encompassing servers, system software, virtualization, data center infrastructure, and storage technologies.
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, firewalls, enterprise architecture frameworks, disaster recovery (DR), business continuity planning (BCP), and cybersecurity principles.
Expertise in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, Python, SQL, and others.
Prior experience in Enterprise or Public Sector organizations is viewed as advantageous.
