Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains a full set of books, including bank reconciliations;
- Manages accounts payable and receivables;
- Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, including reviewing and approving employee expenses, reconciling timesheets, and managing attendance records such as sick days, vacation, and overtime through their payroll provider;
- Conducts month end and year-end adjustments, reconciliations and finalize working papers;
- Prepares management reports for month end and assists with grant applications, donations, tracking of fund usage, and issuance of charitable donation receipts;
- Manages the flow of all finances through the company, including donations, and coordinating with fundraising activities;
- Communicates and manages funding programs from different agencies;
- Supports leadership team with budget creation & periodic review;
- Communicates professionally and positively with clients and other stakeholders;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of full cycle Bookkeeping experience;
- Certification or related education in business or accounting is an asset;
- Proficiency with accounting software, Sage 50 is an asset;
- Strong computer literacy, including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
- In depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices;
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and record keeping;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks;
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and effectively;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and within a team setting;
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity.
This position is anticipated to begin at the end of November, offering approximately 32-40 hours per week in-office, in beautiful Kelowna, BC. The hours and schedule for this position are designed to be flexible, accommodating the needs of the successful candidate. They understand that work-life balance is essential, and are committed to creating a schedule that aligns with your needs while ensuring the team's objectives are met. Along with a competitive benefits package, the hourly rate for this role is expected to range from $30 to $35, depending on experience and qualifications.
