3rd Class Stationary Engineer

We are looking for STATIONARY 3 ENGINEER for our Whitby location. Shift Work, 12hrs per shift. 2 days shifts and 2 night shifts and wage: $41.18 + $3 retention bonus .

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with water treatment equipment — Water softeners, RO's (Reverse Osmosis)
  • Boiler water testing — adjusting chemical pumps following tests to maintain proper ranges
  • ETP — Effluent Treatment water tests — adjusting proper ranges, monitoring the computer
    screens of Effluent flow from the mill to avoid carry over to the city.
  • Maintain sludge handling equipment, sludge is removed from the mill water and burned in
    the F33 (Fluidized Boiler).
  • Assist the 2nd class shift engineer with operation of the FBB.
  • Monitor effluent pump house and sludge pumphouse.
  • Work safely, reporting hazards and unsafe conditions, and taking all reasonable measures
    to protect themselves and their co-workers
  • Use and/or wear personal protective equipment that the company requires to be used or
    worn
  • Work in compliance with the responsibilities as outlined in the Ontario Occupational Health
    and Safety Act and the Industrial Regulations and with the Company's safe practices and
    procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Must hold a 3rd class TSSA Stationary Engineer's certificate
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point and Acrobat
  • Works well within a team
  • Strong/effective communication skills
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and demonstrates the ability to perform solve in a fast paced
    environment
  • Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
