THOAR Mining provides a wide variety of services in the support and operation of mining, ranging from project management, supervision, underground construction, maintenance, and mining equipment operation.

We have an immediate need for highly motivated, safety-conscious Mine Operators/Equipment Operators for a Potash project with our client at Colonsay, SK for a 2 month project with possible extension.

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of heavy equipment in an efficient, safe, and appropriate manner supporting rehabilitation projects
  • Take part in safety meetings and inspections, and follow standard operating procedures
  • If required:
    • Operation of mining equipment (scoops, alpine miners, and other underground equipment)
    • Operation of bolting and scaling machines
    • Installation of belt lines
    • Other Rehab work
  • Communication with Maintenance and Operations departments

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one to three years of operating 200 series to 470 series excavators and/or other heavy equipment, ideally in a mining/heavy industrial environment
  • Training and experience running continuous miners, alpine miners, scoops, bolters, scalers, and other underground mining equipment is not required but is considered an asset
  • Strong safety record and commitment to safety, teamwork, and collaboration
  • A great attitude and work ethic
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace
  • Grade 12 diploma or GED
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members, site staff, and contractors
  • Must display credibility and integrity to maintain the respect of superiors, subordinates, and peers
  • Ability to manage work in scheduling software
  • Pre-employment drug test will be required
  • Ability to work both day shift and night shift, on a rotation

Job Type: Temporary Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay Based on Experience

Benefits: Provided upon completion of a probationary period
