Job Title: Service Technician – West Coast
Reports To: Parts and Service Manager
Direct Reports: None
Works with: Sales, Customers, Operations, Customer Service, Engineering, Parts, and Service
Pay Type: Hourly
Overtime: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Service Technician that will Provide on-site support to customers and technical assistance with various electro-mechanical products, equipment, and systems. The Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. This individual will also be responsible for implementing a technicians work area in our Richmond distribution warehouse and providing back-up for the Logistics Manager when required. Must be flexible and understand the ebbs and flow of business. This position will require 50% travel time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair equipment and machinery malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs and maintenance procedures.
- Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance activities.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while working on equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
When serving as a warehouse supervisor, you will be responsible for temporarily assuming the duties of the current warehouse supervisor during their sick leave or vacation.
- Manage and organize inventory in the warehouse.
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse space.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Job Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in service technician role.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Service Technician or similar role
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Forklift certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping
