Assistant Controller
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Recruitment, has partnered with our client in the search for an Accounting Manager. Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the business in the preparation financial statements. Assist with the period end close process whiling supporting Ad-hoc reporting as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Complete month end reporting and analysis
• Support the leadership team to prepare budgets and perform variance analysis on budget to actual.
• Develop, report and improve key performance indicators for operational and corporate goals.• Managing a team of junior accountants and AP process.
• Review monthly and quarterly government remittances.
• Produce ad hoc financial and operational reports and perform the associated analysis.• Work with internal team on ICOFR standards
• Assist on special projects.
Requirements:
• The ideal candidate must possess a recognized Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA CMA)
• A background in public practice with exposure to IFRS
• An organized and strong communicator with good interpersonal skills that is strong at overcoming challenges and meeting deadlines.
