We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Manager to oversee and coordinate our maintenance and production teams. This role is crucial in ensuring our plant's equipment is maintained in optimal condition, sanitary, and minimizing unplanned downtime. The Maintenance Manager will implement and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, lead troubleshooting efforts, and uphold safety standards.
Key Performance Outcomes:
- Implementation of Preventative Maintenance Framework on CMMS system
- Preventative Maintenance 95% Completion rate
- High priority Repairs Work Orders 100% Completion, overall 95% completion rate, low-medium priority WO backlog < 2 weeks.
- Downtime < 5 Hours Per Week
- Response to critical equipment breakdown is < 1 hour, bring equipment back up running < 4hours, complete repairs < 24 hours.
- 100% Document and Record-Keeping Compliance
- Developing and adhering to a Maintenance Budget
Statement of Work & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability within the maintenance department.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, and Engineering teams to plan maintenance schedules and oversee routine shutdowns.
- Supervise maintenance team by determining workloads and schedules, delegating work assignments, monitoring quality of work, and providing both formal and informal feedback.
- Train, direct, provide coaching, and support to skilled staff (maintenance technicians and operators).
Maintenance Operations:
- Build, implement, maintain, and manage the preventative maintenance program including scheduling, record-keeping and spare parts inventory. Maintain and update maintenance records.
- Order and maintain parts inventory for machines using an organized system and framework.
- Oversee and actively participate in the day-to-day troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Address urgent equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
- In collaboration with Production, Planning and Engineering teams, plead the planning and organization of routine shutdowns of production lines, coordinating contractors during shutdowns.
Technical Expertise:
- Implement and administer a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Inspect, diagnose and perform hands-on repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in production equipment
- Investigate frequent or repetitive failures to determine root causes and coordinate with teams to implement corrective measures and find ways to improve equipment performance and implement process enhancements.
Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage the maintenance budget, including cost control, procurement of parts and supplies, and vendor management.
- Develop the annual maintenance budget and monitor expenditures to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Ensure maintenance availability whenever equipment is running, responding immediately to breakdowns.
- Prepare contingency plans for critical equipment failures to mitigate impacts on production schedules.
- Proactively address equipment inefficiencies based on feedback from production staff.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Accountable for food safety and regulatory responsibilities, including our SQF program and requisite procedures related to this position.
- Conduct safety audits in manufacturing facilities and warehouses.
- Ensure the safety of all team members by maintaining safe equipment.
- Understand the food safety risks related to the scope of work within the manufacturing process.
- Be empowered to escalate food safety issues to leadership and resolve food safety issues within this scope of work.
Coordination & Reporting:
- Contribute to operation's Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meeting.
- Be present and contribute to all management level meetings
- Update Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) weekly and report on them in weekly Operations meetings.
- Collaborate closely with all operations stakeholders to achieve Greenhouse's mission and purpose.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Previous experience in a maintenance mechanic, millwright and supervisor role
- Previous administrative experience building and managing a preventative maintenance program and related software
- 10+ years in maintenance, preference to food and beverage
- Technical ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Results-orientated with the ability to adapt to changing production demands
- Scissor lift and forklift license is a plus.
