HSE Manager
Primary Location: Vancouver, BC
Employee Status: Full Time
Salary: $120,000 - $160,000 CAD

The Opportunity
The HSE Manager will manage the HSE program for the Floatel, supply and transport vessels for the Woodfibre LNG Project including the Richmond and Vancouver operations areas, and will report to Bridgemans Corporate HSE Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience with marine operations and a strong HSE background.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
HSE Audits & Inspections:
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the project's small vessel fleet.
- Prepare detailed audit and inspection reports, implementing necessary corrective actions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all vessels comply with Transport Canada regulations.
- Prepare for and participate in Transport Canada audits.
Client Liaison & Documentation:
- Address and resolve client concerns related to HSE matters.
- Maintain all project-specific HSE documentation and records.
- Audit client commitments for safety and compliance. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Training & Personnel Development:
- Ensure all project personnel are adequately trained in HSE policies and procedures.
Floatel HSEQ Oversight:
- Oversee HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) aspects of the Floatel.
- Conduct regular reviews of ship management practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Incident Management:
- Review incident reports, conduct root cause analyses, and ensure lessons learned are shared across all vessels.
- Recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Technical Inspections:
- Perform technical inspections of critical ship areas (bridge, engine room) to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Be knowledgeable in preventative maintenance schedules, water treatment systems, and environmental hazard controls (noise, vibration).
Emergency Response:
- Participate in and ensure completion of all required emergency response drills, including those mandated by Transport Canada.
- Provide HSE support during emergency situations as needed.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the company's representative in HSE-related matters during meetings and conferences with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies.
Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall project success.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in marine operations and HSE management.
- Strong knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and marine safety practices.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
- HSE designations (CRSP, CRST, CSO, NCSO, or equivalent) preferred.
- Marine certifications combined with marine experience (DPA, SVOP, SVMO, or equivalent)preferred.
- Formal education in HSE (degree, diploma, or certificates in Occupational Health & Safety or related fields) preferred.
Working Conditions
- Potential repetitive, physical activity involved (walking, kneeling, reaching, lifting)
- Lifting light to medium weight (up to 20 too 50lbs)
- Exposure to environmental elements including extreme weather conditions
