Rate of Pay: $41,000 - 42,500/ year

Job Summary
The Community & Events Coordinator is a roll up the sleeves professional who is passionate about sports and recreational experience with a truly differentiated competitive advantage. They are primarily responsible for building community events, overseeing drop-in programs & working within the community to drive new event initiatives. This role supports the drop-in process; from bringing awareness and promoting the facility's products and services to introducing of the facility to the prospect to maintaining ongoing communication throughout the ‘life-cycle' of the customer.

- Management and maintenance of the facility's daysmart operating system, pertaining to Drop-in programs, Public Skate, Game Deck and Event bookings and Birthdays
- Retain all existing customers while continuing to grow our public event offerings.
- Under the guidance of and with the General Manager & Regional Sales Manager:
- Reach out to new and existing customers to build events around their needs.
- Hire, train and schedule public skate and birthday host employees.
- Work evenings, weekends and event and birthday hours.
- Program Initiative, internal and external events, contract holders and special event initiatives
- Assist in the discovery, development and relationship-building opportunities within their market through contact, to create New Customer revenue opportunities and maximize revenue from existing customers
- Input into the monthly and quarterly review process to analyze the effectiveness of the public skate and drop in plan
- Assist in the development and delivery of best-in-class marketing and facility event strategies
- Provide assistance in the development and execution of facility offering awareness, (e.g. website content, social media strategies, traditional advertising, CANLAN TV, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
- Post-Secondary school diploma or degree in business, marketing and/or recreation (as asset)
ABILITIES, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years' experience within a sports/recreational environment would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience in closing in a sales environment
- Previous experience in an inside sales environment an asset
- Excellent listening and customer service skills to provide solutions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication, including presentation ability
- Strong follow-up skills and an ability to deal with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database management
- Strong working knowledge of the online and social media
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
