DIRECTOR OF SOCIAL SERVICES (FULL-TIME)

JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 5, 2024

WAGE: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00

The Director of Social Services leads and manages the social services department, ensuring programs for individuals, families, and communities are delivered effectively. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, budgets, and programs, while ensuring compliance with all regulations and aligning services with the organization's mission.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the department, including child, family, mental health, and housing services.
  • Develop and evaluate social service programs to meet community needs.
  • Supervise and train staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Manage the budget, monitor spending, and allocate resources.
  • Create and enforce policies to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Build community partnerships with agencies and stakeholders.
  • Represent the department in advocacy efforts and public engagements.
  • Oversee crisis intervention and emergency response strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements and prepare reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Pursue funding opportunities for Social Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of leadership in social services, managing programs and staff.
  • Understanding of social services, public policy, and regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and budgeting skills.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with underserved populations (e.g., low-income families, refugees).
  • Ability to speak Ojibwe is an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and other related software.
  • Leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and cultural competency.
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships.
