Industrial Maintenance Electrician

We seek an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician who enjoys variety in their work, wants to achieve personal growth and development in their career. Reporting to the Maintenance and Facilities Leader, the Industrial Maintenance Electrician is responsible for a wide variety of electrical work, as it applies to the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of specialized plant equipment.
Key Areas of Contribution:
  • You will be responsible for preventative maintenance, repairs, and select projects made through the CMMS system
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair facility and industrial equipment, and associated electrical and electronic controls
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and the Canadian Electrical Code. Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for serviceability.
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices, including SSRs, SCRs and VFDs.
  • A mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous experience in the glass manufacturing industry would be a benefit but not a requirement
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Working Knowledge of PLC and computerized machinery is an asset
  • Good understanding of AC and DC motors
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Strong English language communication skills – oral and written
  • Ability to work in team based environment and also work independently in a proactive manner
  • Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Has a "Safety first and always" attitude towards work, oneself, and colleagues
  • Ability to provide quality customer service
  • Available to work either permanent day or afternoon shift: 6:30am to 3:00pm or 2:30pm-11pm
  • Available to work either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday
  • Available to work holidays if shutdown maintenance is required
  • Being able to operate a forklift, scissor lift and/or Genie is a plus
  • You will be responsible for supplying your own tools. A variety of testing equipment and PPE will be supplied.
