For over 100 years the Sun Parlor Home has been offering long term care to the community of Essex County. Our Mission is “to serve our community by providing supportive resident-focused care that promotes quality of life.” As a not-for-profit municipally owned and subsidized long-term care home, with 206 beds, all of our resources are dedicated to our residents.

In A Nutshell:Under the general supervision of the professional nursing staff, provides personal care to the residents of the Sun Parlor Home including physical, emotional and social care.
Day In The Life:Helps orient new residents to the Home
Assisting resident with personal care and activities of daily living
Supporting independence of the resident through restorative care practices
Ensuring the fulfillment of individual goals and needs as
instructed in the resident's care plans
Engaging residents in leisure activities
Ensuring the health, safety, and welfare of residents
Assisting and satisfying the social and emotional needs of a resident
Documenting and recording daily care reports.
Attends meetings and training related to these duties
Reports care concerns to the registered staff as needed
Administers simple treatments
Adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations set by the province
Minimum Grade 12 Education
Personal Support Worker Certificate or actively enrolled in studies as an RN or RPN and completion of one year of full time studies
Minimum of 1 Year Related Experience
$25.71 per hour
