POSITION SUMMARY: The Grinder/Trimmer is responsible for using hand tools to cut through rough edges, along with precision cutting of fiberglass parts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Smooth Surfaces: Sand and grind fiberglass parts to ensure they are smooth and even.
  • Precision Work: Cut parts precisely to achieve a uniform thickness.
  • Follow Instructions: Use verbal instructions and tools to finish parts correctly.
  • Various Tasks: Trim, drill, route, and grind parts and surfaces.
  • Accurate Marking: Use jigs and fixtures to mark parts accurately for further processing.
  • Support Initiatives: Participate in Lean and 5S initiatives to improve efficiency and organization.
  • Tool Maintenance: Keep tools and equipment in good condition daily.
  • Read Blueprints: Understand blueprints to complete parts according to specific dimensions.
  • Report Issues: Document any problems using a Corrective & Preventative Action report (CAPAR).
  • Additional Duties: Take on other tasks as needed.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Experience: Previous experience with sanding and grinding, especially on fiberglass, is a plus.
  • Skills: Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions.
  • Team Player: Work well with others and support team initiatives.
  • Tools Proficiency: Experience with hand tools (pneumatic, electric, manual)
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure all parts meet quality standards.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Strong skills in both areas.
  • Independence: Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • The shift is from Sun - Thursday from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am
