B&B Contracting is seeking an experienced Construction Layout Surveyor to join our growing company.
The Utility Locator at B&B Contracting Group plays a pivotal role in the accurate mapping of subsurface utilities, crucial for seamless development projects. Collaborating closely with project teams, surveyors, and engineers, they utilize geophysical equipment to verify and label underground utilities. Their attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication ensure the success of our projects.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job duties performed by the Utility Locator include but are not limited to:
- Utilize various geophysical equipment, including EMI and GPR, to achieve accurate subsurface imaging for small- and large-scale development projects.
- Collaborate closely with project teams emphasizing the detection and mapping of subsurface utilities.
- Verify, identify, and label public and private utility mains and other services primarily located underground.
- Uphold a safe work environment by strictly adhering to safety policies and work procedures.
- Adhere to instructions, maintain punctuality, and meet established standards consistently.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Utility Locator, with knowledge of geophysical surveys, land surveying, or geomatics preferred.
- Strong computer skills, expertise in GPS is an asset.
- Registration with ASTTBC as a Registered Underground Utility Locator Technician (RULT) is an asset.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and a safety-conscious mindset.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in all types of weather and terrain.
- Possession of own reliable transportation.
COMPENSATION
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
Hourly pay rate will be adjusted based on skills and experience.
