About you:
You are a Web Software Developer who is passionate, ready to learn, and eager to tackle challenging problems in geospatial and forest technology - from creating highly interactive web maps, to designing intuitive forestry management workflows, to unifying tracking/lidar/enterprise GIS data in one easy-to-use app.
As a Web Software Developer, you'll be working with Product, Design, QA, and other developers to design, build, and maintain web applications in a clean, clear, and repeatable manner. You understand the importance of user-friendly UI/UX, writing quality code, and iterating on ideas to meet product or project objectives. You are comfortable learning new languages and working on a variety of applications throughout a year. Customer satisfaction, team collaboration, and the importance of team reflection and constant improvement are your top priorities.
What you'll do and how you'll make an impact:
- As a key team member, you will help to scope, plan, and execute application development with a focus on web-based GIS and data management solutions.
- Work with junior team members to improve their knowledge and capabilities within the team.
- Own and lead smaller projects, or components of more complex projects.
- Help manage the tech stack and provide input on architectural decisions for your product or projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to iterate on solutions and to continually deliver value to our clients.
- Improve the application delivery process using automation and writing testable software.
- Contribute to solutions for new and interesting problems, which often involve spatiotemporal components.
- Participate in the product testing and peer review process.
- Develop yourself personally and professionally by actively setting and achieving ambitious goals.
- Impact Lim Geomatics' growth by developing great applications and solutions.
What we're looking for:
- Comfortable with Agile development practices, working in small teams running modern dev ops.
- You have 3 or more years of web development experience. Angular, .NET, and Azure experience would be an asset.
- Experience with Esri technology and mapping solutions would be an asset.
- Experience with SQL and database technologies would be an asset
- Able to manage a workload that may touch on a few different applications any given week.
- You can independently research and implement solutions to complex problems.
