Your opportunity
Reporting to the Tax Partners, the U.S. Tax Senior Manager is responsible for working on a variety of US cross-border tax files and tax planning engagements. As a thought leader for the practice the Senior Manager will provide research and technical support to Managers by identifying and establishing best practices for complexities on files. Along with the Tax Partners, the U.S. Tax Senior Manager will be an integral part of leading the tax leadership team
Your major responsibilities
- Lead all engagement phases including budget, analysis of work-in-progress, drafting of invoices and management of accounts receivables
- Manage tax compliance for individuals, businesses and trusts
- Develop and deliver tax planning for a variety of clients including individuals expanding their business to the US, gift and estate tax and income tax issues
- Make informed decisions for complex US tax areas advising individuals and business on cross border tax matters
- Identify technical issues to support the research and implementation of solutions
- Stay current and advise team on tax law changes
- Prepare and present professional development seminars
- Establish and maintain long term working relationships with clients
- Coach and mentor staff and delegate assignments
- Oversee and balance allocation of work assignments to staff
What we look for
- Over six years of related US personal tax experience with a public accounting firm
- Certified Public Accountant designation (US or CDN) in good standing
- IRS Enrolled Agent designation
- Demonstrated project management and organization skills.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with business owners
