Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program
- Ensure the safety of workers, motorists and pedestrians within and around the site
- Set up traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, and signs to guide traffic safely
- Identify and execute the location and means for all control points, ensuring superior visibility to oncoming traffic
- Direct and control traffic at construction sites or other locations as assigned
- Communicate with drivers and pedestrians to ensure their safety and provide directions as needed
- Perform other duties as required, requested or assigned
- When not completing traffic control tasks, join the crew in laboring tasks
Requirements:
- Valid BCCSA traffic control ticket - MUST Have
- 1-3 year of traffic control experience
- Ability to take and follow instruction
- Professional demeanour when dealing with the public
- Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently when required
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Valid provincial driver's license
Assets:
- Recent working experience in similar role
- Lane Closure training
- First aid training
This position is compensated at an hourly rate. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period.
