WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Forestry Supervisor will be responsible for implementing the Forsite Health and Safety Program as well as assisting with scheduling, supervision, training, quality control, and leading a production field crew through various projects. Additionally, the Forestry Supervisor will support the Manager – Prince George in the preparation of project level budgets and plans and will work closely with other Forsite staff to effectively deliver projects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- A safety conscious attitude, experience supporting safety programs, and developing a team safety culture;
- Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in forestry;
- Registered or eligible to registered with the FPBC as an RPF or RFT;
- A minimum of 3-4 years of multiphase timber development project management in British Columbia;
- Solid understanding of, and experience in, operational planning (cut block/road development processes).
- Experience using LiDAR for forest development planning would be an asset;
- A strong understanding of the forest legislation, regulation and policy impacting forest planning and management in British Columbia;
- Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
- Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions;
- Able to work both independently under limited direct supervision as well as in a dynamic team environment.
