Position Scope
The role of Research Technician – Technology Development is to efficiently operate and maintain test equipment at the lab, bench, and pilot scale . This includes performing maintenan ce and upkeep of day-to-day operations of the R&D facilities. They ensure that equipment is functioning properly, troubleshoot issues, and conduct regular maintenance tasks. Additionally, they contribute to general housekeeping activities such as keeping the workspace clean and organized. Maintaining facility organization is vital to ensure smooth operations and enhance productivity.
This role is full-time and onsite and is based in Squamish, BC.

- Demonstrate a positive safety culture.
- Identify, report and resolve unsafe conditions, processes or actions within the workplace.
- Ensure that all safety related incidents, accidents and near misses are reported and investigated in line with company policy.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, operate and maintain Technology Development test equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and test plans
- Maintain and upgrade equipment as necessary, working with internal and external resources as needed
- Maintain and organize the Technology Development facility
- Walk, bend, and stand while completing various tasks
- Able to lift 50lbs
- Organize their work schedule to ensure all tasks are completed
Education and Experience
Education:
- Relevant technical certification from a postsecondary institute
- 2+ years experience in an industrial or laboratory setting
- Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
- Mechanical experience with basic hand and power tools
- Forklift and aerial lift experience and training desirable
- LOTO experience desirable.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, agile business and R&D environment.
- Collaborate well in a team environment, including comfort working in the cross-functional interface between technical, business, and administrative teams
- High level of independence and self-motivation – ability to come to the table ready with solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and strategically.
- Demonstrated excellence in technical writing.

This position is eligible for our standard 40 hours/week work schedule, or our 9/80 work schedule which provides every second Friday off.
Our location in the outdoor recreation hub of Squamish gives you access to world class skiing, mountain biking, climbing, hiking, and other outdoor activities within minutes of the office, while in close proximity to Vancouver, one of the most beautiful and culturally diverse cities in Canada.
The base salary for this role is $69,700-$86,100 per year. There is also a bonus incentive.
