Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• Proficient in React, TypeScript, Git, SQL
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to apply design patterns and develop intuitive modular code
• Ability to perform deep problem solving and build elegant solutions to complex problems

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science or a related field
• Experience with mobile SDKs, Expo, AWS, Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, Kubernetes, Kafka
• Good understanding of UI/UX designs
• We're looking for developers who take pride in their code rather than the frameworks they know (although good Devs know the right frameworks).

Job Description

The software engineer position at Kora is a highly entrepreneurial role. The candidate has the opportunity to participate in the design, development, and optimization of various Fintech products using the latest technologies. On a regular basis, you will work with the Product, Marketing, and Growth teams to improve acquisition and onboarding strategies for new users, as well as ensure that existing users remain engaged with various features. Aside from your work as a developer, you will also have high levels of exposure into the daily operations, business strategy, and other aspects of the business. The ideal candidate should be a skillful engineer with years of development experience and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. The competent candidate will also be entitled to an attractive incentive stock option package.

Job Responsibility

• Develop and optimize Kora's mobile & web apps and backend microservices
• Participate in restructuring Kora's next-generation software architecture and tech stack
• Participate in the design and development of Kora's next-generation products
• Work on a cross-functional team of engineers, designers and product managers
• Building complex and scalable solutions
• Manage integrations with 3rd party vendor API
