PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing / commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances, such as IEC 61850, to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from preliminary engineering through to the commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Drafter/Design Technician to join our engineering team on a full time basis in our Winnipeg office. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.
Responsibilities:

· Work within a project team of engineers and designers in our Substation and Line Design Group;

· Assist with substation and overhead lines/underground cable routing layout & configuration design for high, medium, and low voltage projects;

· Assist with project development, scope, and budget;

· Attend client design review meetings;

· Conduct field site inspections and field reports;

· Knowledge of power system studies and analysis using engineering software packages such as PLS- CAD, EasyPower, SKM, ETAP, Win-IGS, CDEGS, and PS-CADD;

· Prepare electrical equipment specifications, electrical installation scope of work documents, and Performance specifications;

· Assisting the engineering teams with drafting and CAD updates to drawings;

· Prepare, review and complete drawing mark-ups;

· Prepare and issue drawing packages;

Qualifications:

The successful candidate should possess a Diploma or Certificate in Design or Drafting from a recognized institute.

• Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs.
• Experience with 3D Microstation is a must
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential.
• Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
• Previous experience working on HV Substation designs for Utilities in North America would be considered an asset.
• Previous exposure to drafting software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD would be an asset
