The Head Office in Niagara Falls, ON is looking for a knowledgeable, analytical and experienced Document Controller to join the team.


Summary of the Role:

Reporting to the Area Manager and Corporate Quality Assurance Manager, the Document Controller will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company Quality policies, programs and practices in respect of the various and required codes and standards on company work projects and fabrications.


Key Responsibilities:

General

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of the corporate QA documentation, (Manuals, Procedures, Instructions etc.).
  • Suggest improvements in procedures (work methods) to increase productivity and quality.
  • Promote permanent improvement, awareness and compliance with QA policies and procedures throughout the company branches and project sites.
  • Ensure proper control, maintenance and distribution of the corporate Q.A. Documentation (Manuals, Procedures, Instructions and Forms).
  • Collaborate on quality program documentation.
  • Review, revise, and collaborate on corporate QA manuals, procedures, work instructions and forms.
  • Collect, organize, monitor, and distribute other documentation related to the QA Program.
  • Archiving QA records.

Certifications/Qualifications

  • Control current QA certification files (Hard and electronic copies).
  • Maintain list of certifications.
  • Communicate information regarding certifications and copies with Sales, IT and other applicable departments.
  • Maintain the QA/QC personnel database including all certifications (Lead auditors, CGSB, CWB and SNT-TC-1A).

Codes/Standards

  • Maintain a library list of available codes/standards.
  • Control the personnel access to the online database (TechStreet).

Non-Conformances/Corrective Actions

  • Process, control, maintain and follow-up on NCR/CARs in the Intelex database for all QA Programs, facilities and sites.
  • Maintain record of training and qualifications.
  • Maintain the Intelex training module and matrices for all QA programs.
  • Support FIT and CBT database.
  • Control and track associated training records, QA personnel files, qualifications and eye tests as required.
  • Schedule and assist in facilitating the required training.

Audits

  • Assist/participate in internal and supplier audit processes; audit preparation, compliance assessments, reporting and follow-up.
  • Act as a guide and assist with registrations and customer audits.

Document Management

  • Control and maintain all published QA Documents within the document management systems (Docushare).

CQAM & QA Departmental Administrative Support

  • Provide support on documentation, presentations, scheduling and miscellaneous department responsibilities.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills:

  • Completion of post-secondary education is required; relating to Quality Assurance is an asset.
  • Knowledge or awareness of various Q.A./Q.C. codes (C.S.A.N285, N286, Z299, ASME, Section III, VIII, ISO 9001)
  • 3-5 years Q.A. experience in a construction and/or nuclear environment is required.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001, ASME- BPVC Section I, II, III, V, VIII, IX, B31 series, CSA B51, B52.
  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001, C.S.A. Z299, N285.0, N286-05, ASME NQA1.
  • Background with inspection and construction operations is required.
  • Excellent Communicator (both written & verbal).
  • Strong analytical and document review abilities.
