JOB SUMMARY

Delivers community-based direct client services to groups and individuals to promote healthy pregnancies, births, infant and early child development using a wrap-around support model. The Early Years Nurse functions as an integral member of the Early Years team to provide primary health care and health promotion services to clients in our community and at outreach locations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Education: Diploma in Nursing. - Licensed by the College of Nurses of Ontario as a registered nurse.

1. Professional Experience:

• Nursing experience in a community setting.
• Nursing experience working with cultural diversity, women's health, pregnancy, and families with young children.
• Experience supporting clients facing mental health challenges
• Experience in group facilitation

1. Key Competencies:

• Ability to recognize community needs and offer services and supports in line with this
• Computer literacy with MS Office, EMRs and electronic data collection.
• Understanding of the determinants of health and their impact on our client's overall wellness
• Ability to meet nursing clinical competencies and adherence to college requirements
• Ability to adapt to changing environment to provide services and supports that meet the needs of clients in our community

1. Linguistic Profile: Fluency in both English and French is required. Language capacity in Arabic and/or Somali is seen as an asset
