We are looking for a Full-time Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Sidney Care team!

PRIMARY DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To maintain the walking Program under the direction of the Physiotherapist
- To implement the daily group exercise program created with the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- With input from the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
- To plan and implement small group activity in partnership with the Recreation team.
- To develop and maintain "getting to know you" information with all residents.
- To develop and implement care plans from an activity perspective.
- Documentation in PointClickCare progress notes.
- Maintain attendance records for activities.
Qualifications:
- Rehab diploma (2 year program) from a recognize school or equivalent and/or experience working (2 years) as a Rehab/Therapy Assistant.
- Work experience varied - New Graduates are welcome!
- Must possess the personal qualities and attitudes that respect and maintain the spirit, dignity, and individuality of the residents.
- Must have a commitment to excellence in Care of the older person in a Long-Term Care environment.
- Must be committed and understand working with residents with dementia.
- Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and is able to establish and maintain relationships with Ownership/management team, staff, residents, resident's families and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently but also guide and lead a team of staff members.
- Demonstrates good time management.
- Has a commitment to ongoing professional development for self and others.
- Physically and mentally able to perform duties for above position.
- Be a role model for other staff members.
- Show a professional, caring, and considerate attitude to residents, visitors, and staff.

Sidney Care is located on Vancouver Island in sunny Sidney, BC and offers residential care to 54 clients. Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents. The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated. Sidney Care works in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority, to ensure quality care to all of our clients.
