The Role:
The Accountant will assist in managing day to day accounting and finance requirements. The ideal employee for this position is a skilled multi-tasker who is reliable and committed to providing excellent service to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- The completion of month end and year end packages for 1447318 B.C. Ltd.
- To be done on a consolidated level.
- Set up bookkeeping information and accounting files for each Vapor Vault site and complete the monthly bookkeeping for Head Office Company.
- Completion of the month end and year end packages for each Vapor Vault Location.
- Provide feedback to bookkeepers as part of the month end packages.
- Contribute to the shortening of overall cycle times.
- File monthly PST and GST returns for 1447318 B.C. Ltd.
- Utilize exceptional analytical and critical thinking ability to innovate and resolve various challenges.
- Process vendor applications and offer thorough support throughout the insurance application process.
- Provide assistance throughout the process of applying for a site's bank account including gathering necessary documentation, completing application forms, and coordinating with the bank to ensure all requirements are met and the account is successfully opened.
- Prepare annual budgets for Vapor Vault.
- Regularly communicate with Vapor Vault Operations Manager about issues noted at sites and overall and support the operations team in related tasks and responsibilities as required.
- Assist with necessary site operations.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as needed
What You Bring:
- Preferred 2 – 5 years' progressive experience in a related role;
- Proven accounting experience;
- Ability to understand and work within the unique spectrum of accounting requirements;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Sound working and technical knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications;
- Professional written and verbal communication skills;
- High level of analytical, critical and logical thinking;
- Affinity to learn and embrace various software platforms;
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office 365 and advanced knowledge of Excel;
- Ability and desire to thrive in a collaborative department within a growing organization.
