Gold's Gym is a leading provider of fitness facilities and offers state-of-the-art equipment, best-in-class personal trainers and innovative group fitness classes. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Fitness Manager to join the team at our Vancouver location. Reporting directly to the Fitness Manager, the incumbent will assist the Fitness Manager with daily business operations, customer service, member retention, obtaining monthly sales targets, and the training and development of staff. This is a full-time, permanent position.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include:
- Manage, control and organize upskilling, training and coaching of personal trainers and fitness trainers;
- Manage and contribute the smooth running of the club and department operations;
- Draft and produce members fitness plans;
- Follow up with personal trainers with members fitness plans;
- Prepare budget estimates and develop policies and procedures to implement programs
- Develop new relationships and create new sales and business contracts;
- Supervision of a team of 5 to 10 personal trainers;
- Understanding and setting daily sales goals for the club while maintaining personal sales levels to ensure goals are met;
- Inspiring and motivating staff to promote personal training services; scheduling renewals, consultations, new member orientations and service appointments; coordinating weekend special events to enhance member and potential client enjoyment;
- Set staffing levels; supporting the team through coaching and training; creating and delivering fitness programs; and monitoring and conducting safe, effective training sessions.
REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a degree in sports health or fitness management and at least 5 years' related experience are required for this position, as well as personal training, supervisory and customer service/sales experience. Must be certified as a Personal Trainer and have up-to-date CPR certification. Must be personable and outgoing, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Supervisory and training experience a must. The successful candidate will have a passion for health and fitness, strong computer skills with Microsoft Office programs, and excellent organizational skills.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Fluent in English
Minimum of 5 years of personal training and/or gym management, experience with advising clients and fitness management;
Degree in sports health or fitness management.
