Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to the success of the safety program
- Perform tasks as required on construction site
- Operate and maintain small tools
- Check excavators, bulldozers, cranes, graders and other heavy construction equipment proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- Service attachments and working tools such as harvesting and tillage equipment, blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
- May perform repair work on heavy trucks and pick-up trucks
Requirements:
- 3rd or 4th year mechanic apprentice
- Ability to take and follow instruction
- Professional demeanor when dealing with the public
- Able to work outside in all-weather at all times of the year
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently when required
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds or more
- Able to do extensive physical labour
- Valid provincial driver's license
Assets:
- Recent working experience in similar role
- Journeyman ticket
- Air brake endorsement
- Commercial vehicle inspector ticket
- First aid training

This position is compensated at an hourly rate between $30 - $42, depending on experience. Employees are eligible for enrollment in our company benefits package following successful completion of a three month probationary period.
