Job Description

The Strong and Steady Falls Prevention Program consists of a Falls Clinic Assessment and a Falls Circuit Exercise Program. Work in collaboration with Geriatrician, RN and PTAs. Physiotherapist responsible for determining eligibility for the program in addition to the supervision of the exercise component of the program.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution required
  • Current Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario required with evidence of insurance coverage
  • Ability to motivate, be sympathetic, yet positive and client-centered in all interactions with patients
  • Have a thorough understanding of confidentiality and patient dignity
  • Demonstrate self-directed carry-through of patient care activities
  • Initiative, good problem solving and communication skills are necessary
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong organizational abilities with efficient time management skills
  • Flexibility to follow direction and work collaboratively with all team members
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
  • Member of CPA/OPA preferred
  • Minimum of one year´s experience in rehabilitation, geriatrics preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact effectively with an interprofessional team
  • Must be flexible and show an ability to work independently and/or collaboratively with all team members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Satisfactory attendance and employment record

The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.


Additional Information

Hours: 7.5 hour shifts, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and alternate Fridays (all day) (Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements)

Salary: $38.846 - $54.782 per hour
