Position Title: Junior Estimator - Co-op Student
Location: Edmonton, AB Corporate office
Status: For a 4-month co-op term (January 2 – April 25, 2025) . This is a full-time paid position operating Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.

ATS Traffic has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Estimator to join our business as a Co-op Student! Working closely with our Corporate Estimating and Project Management Team! We seek students who are ambitious, willing to learn and happy to work in a team environment.
All applicants must be registered in an accredited post-secondary education program that participates in a Co-op program.
Our ideal candidate is a positive team player with superior analytical skills. You will utilize school theory along with your soft skills to work on a project to improve our Estimating Process. Key Accountabilities- Get training and understand in depth the role a Project Estimator. On the job training may include Research Provincial Specifications to ensure adherence during project execution, Provide detailed take-offs and prepare accurate estimates of direct and indirect costs and Respond to all pricing questions and clarification requests
- Work along with Manager to develop a Process Improvement Plan (PIP) for the Estimating Process.
- Provide improvement recommendations on estimating process as per Process Improvement Plan (PIP)
- Assist with special other special activities tied to the PIP.
- Works well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Attentive to detail.
- Can foresee risks and make decisions.
- Continuous drive to improve self and team.
- Customer service oriented.
Complete 2 or more years of Construction Technology or Engineering Program, such as:
- Civil Engineering Technology
- Construction Engineering Technology
- Civil Engineering
- Construction Management

Skills:
- Able to read, understand and interpret civil plans and engineering documents.
- Demonstrate strong background and interest in construction estimating.
- Ability to apply basic engineering principles to construction challenges.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology and systems.

Experience:
No professional experience is necessary however, any previous experience as Estimator in a construction environment will be considered an asset.
